Usually the clip is concave but it can also be straight. A Bowie knife is a classic example of a knife with a clip-point blade. This thin tip can be used to cut in hard to reach places and provides some additional control. The clip-point blade is formed when you take a normal blade and ‘clip’ the back which results in a thinner tip.
